Pipeline, Oahu, Hawaii (January 20th, 2012): The third annual Volcom Pipe Pro, an ASP 5-Star World Qualifying Series (WQS) event, is setting up for another amazing showdown at Pipe. The 2012 waiting period is January 23rd - February 4th, and with less than a week to go, the 112 warriors are getting ready for battle at one of the most dangerous waves on the planet, dueling it out for $130,000 USD i

The surf at Pipeline has been on fire for the better part of January, and Surfline.com - the official forecaster of the 2012 Volcom Pipe Pro, is happy to report that there is plenty more surf to come.

You can tune into www.volcompipepro.com to watch the live HD webcast of the event, see video warrior stats, up to the minute results, daily videos and more. iPhone users can also download the VolcoMobile iPhone App and stay up-to-date on the live webcast wherever you are, as well as purchase Volcom Pipe Pro Merch and access all features of the full website.

The Volcom Pipe Pro is an extra special event for the local Hawaiian competitors, being that it is the only chance for non-World Tour surfers to gain entry into the prestigious Pipe Masters. The top eight Hawaiian competitors in the Volcom Pipe Pro will be rewarded wildcard entries into the 2012 event, which is part of the Triple Crown series that wraps up the year.

Last year, the 2011 Volcom Pipe Pro was the most viewed WQS webcast of all time - held in three consecutive days of pumping Pipeline surf, with local Hawaiian, 18-year-old John Florence taking the top spot against a field of surfers almost twice his age.
