Welcome to the first installment for 2012 from New Zealand Surfing Magazine. Happy New Year from us all here and may 2012 bring you epic goodness in the form of waves as a most memorable 2011 did.

Gracing the cover of this issue is underground shredder Joseph Palmer riding one of the biggest waves ever ridden in NZ, his tow partner Damon Gunness being that credited with the biggest, team mates going toe to toe pushing the boundaries of big wave surfing in Aotearoa.
