Sarah Mason (NZ) scored a big round two heat win at the Oakley World Pro Junior in Bali yesterday. The stylish and powerful goofy foot surfer easily defeated Ren Hashimoto of Japan to advance to round three.

Sarah Mason has won her round two heat at the Oakley World Junior Pro to push through to the third round. In a convincing display of solid backhand surfing Sarah posted 13.50 out of 20 to defeat Ren Hashimoto (Japan) and Diah Dewi Rahay (Indonesia).

In the third round Sarah will square off against Gabriella Leite, the Brazilian surfer who got the better of her in their round 1 exchange. If Sarah can overcome Gabriella she will move through to the quarter finals. Event organizers will call the day three schedule at 8am Bali time today.

The Oakley World Pro Junior is the first of three events to decide the Association of Surfing Professionals World Junior Champions for the 2011 season. The event runs between two quality surf locations on the surf rich island of Bali and has an event window period of October 3 to October 14 - with the event likely to run across the 7 best surf day's in this period. The 2010 Men's winner was Jack Freestone of Australia and he will defend his title and the women's top seed this year is Coco Ho of Hawaii.
