The Kiwi guys have been out of action for a while apart from Rowan Aish who took on the Brazilian trifecta of events over the past three weeks. Unfortunately Rowan had limited success getting eliminated in the first heat of all three events. The Brazilians are mad competitors and their will to win surpasses all other countries by a long shot.
Richard Christie, Billy Stairmand and Jay Quinn opted not to head to South America after their European jaunt. However Ricardo and Jay are scheduled to compete in the six-star Sri Lankan Airline Pro in Sri Lanka on the 18th of June.
With the last Brazilian event yet to be completed the ASP ratings look a little like this.
After not attending the last three major events, Richard Christie has dropped 30 odd places to 132nd but is still the highest placed Kiwi. Jay Quinn sits in 155th place. The two surfers will hope to jump up the ratings at the Sri Lanka event. Billy Stairmand is in 208th place with Rowan Aish in 241st place eeking his way up the ratings by competing in Brazil.
For the Women Paige Hareb sits in 10th equal on the World Title ratings and 5th equal on the World Rankings. Wini Paul sits in 33rd with Jess Santorik one behind in 34th. Airini after not competing in the last two events falls back to 69th.
The Australasian Pro Junior Series sees Matt Hewitt drop back one place to 11th on the ratings. Buck Woods now sits in 24th and Alex Dive (39th) as the top three Kiwi boys.
The Mason sisters lead the girls ratings with Sarah in the lead over Airini. Grace Spiers sits in 16th with Alexis in 17th, Rosa Thompson 18th, Ella Williams 21st and Jayda Martin - Fitzharris in 25th.
