JDUB, AKA, Johnny Wood has been surfing for 20 years and shaping for over sixteen years and has developed a life long passion for both. Jdub has worked with a very long list of respected NZ surfboard industry people along the way, including being picked up by Hot Buttered Surfboards (Auckland) in 1999 as the main shaper. Over the next six years JDUB worked closely with the HB Surf Team (including Larry Fisher and Mishca Davies) and a large customer client base, handshaping a large number and variety of boards has helped honn Johnny's skill to the highest level.

Johnny has also had the privilege of shaping Hawaiian Island Creations Surfboards Label, meeting Master shaper Eric Arakawa, discussing shaping and board design was amazing and has heavy influenced his own shapes and designs today.

Jdub has had his own setup for a while now (in South Auckland, not to far from the wild West Coast), with a focus on quality custom handmade boards.

Over the last few years fish and semi fish hybrids have become very popular and we do a range focused in this area of design. We also build performance short boards through to long boards and everything in between.

We feel quads are an excellent addition to any quiver and we have been working a lot with these shapes over the last few years and have several models with amazing performance and many happy customers riding them.

We also have epoxy boards available in all the Current models, the very latest in IXPS closed cell foam and clear epoxy resin. This technology is here now and avaliable to you through Jdub Surfboards. p>

2010 BOARD MODELS

THE NiNjA : The High Performance Model of the Jdub range, designed for top to bottom and in the pocket surfing, a more refined outline, a hip in the tail, full concave or single to double concave bottom, low entry rocker and with plenty of tail rocker make for a perfect "pocket" rocket or in the air, the NiNjA can deliver the goods.

THE CROSSFIRE : This Model has a fuller outline and boxy rails. The Crossfire has the performance and manoeuvrablity of the generic shortboard with added floatation and paddling ability to allow you to catch more waves and still surf top to bottom, very fast and loose with a low entry rocker and a medium tail rocker. A great board as a quad set-up and can be made with a variety of tail shapes; swallow, diamond and rounded square tails all work well on this gem.

THE STEALTH : The Stealth is a fish with a difference, more curve in the rocker from nose to tail, a full nose area allows you to catch waves with ease, a pulled in tail gives great hold and release on the wave, perfect for small to over head surf, a great allround board to have in the quiver. Works great as a Quad or 4+1 plug set

THE FREAKSHOW : This little Freak is a small to medium wave board, with a wide, fast and responsive tail, a flattish entry rocker and low rocker under the front foot with a good amount of tail rocker, great for groms and bigger guys shortboard.

THE MiSFiT : A semi fish with a fuller outline and boxy rails, single to double concaves, a double flyer in the tail for a great pivoting point, and a shorter board feel, punts and lands airs with ease.

THE VAMP : A bat-tail shortboard, a fuller outline shape and low rocker make this board a small wave catching machine, single to double concave, vee through the tail, works will as a quad or 4+1 set so you can have a thruster or quad in one board.

THE WEAPON : The Ferrari of the range, for surfing big faces or heaving barrel riding this is the Weapon of choice, works great as a rounded pin tail or pin tail, comes in a range of lengths.

THE CLASSIC RANGE : This range is focused on the flowing lines and classic designs from the sixties and seventies era, Classic Retro fish , single fins and egg shapes are in this range, bringing back oldschool with a modern twist.
