Kahutara at 6-8 breaking southside would be the hardest i've paddled out at.....and some place over on the sw coast that looked so easy and i ended up 5km up the road and never even got out the back

There is a spot round Eastbourne way called "Pipes". It was named this because there used to be a large stockpile of concrete pipes directly in front of the wave.

Port Reef is a piece of p!ss, paddle out behind the point, easy enough to get out with your hair dry. Brighton has to be one of the hardest, or Magnet when it's big and dredging up the point. Muriwai has it's moments when it can be frustrating.

Cheltenham beach Auckland, All th bikinis usually on the beach, no waves, very difficult to get into. Then the waters so very warm even in August, that you dont want to get out.

I always thought it was something to do with refuge pipes being discharged into the harbor there? Guess i was wrong, It does have pretty questionable water quality though.

Time it wrong and getting out the back leaves you getting pounded to bits and hundreds of metres north, getting out of the water at the wrong spot leaves you in the "washing machine" and then negotiating a nice 8ft shorebreak.

hahaha yep been there done that lol middle of winter 2005

Nothing wrong with the water there these days my friend. Used to be a bit sketchy back in the day but they've built the primo plant now.

I worked on the plant about nine years ago. At 9:30am every day the nearby Griffins factory would start baking... yum... then at 9:50am the miliscreening plant would crank up. It was the rankest smell. What a lashing just before smoko.

Im not sure bout you fullahs, but I give spots my own names, that way when I speak of them only my friends know where im talking bout. Hardest spot for me was double overhead blackies, when you see the set hit the exposed rock outside the takeoff, then dive deep and hang on to some seaweed.

ojung bocur in sumatra was a little bit of a tricky one to get out as. wait for a lull and run along a flat coral finger without tripping over or getting smoked by a wave.

Pascuales in mexico was a ***** getting out as it breaks super close to shore and heavy as hell.

One of my favourite waves here on St maarten has an entry/exit point covered in sea urchins. been lucky enough to avoid them so far but its not a matter of if more a matter of when you are going to get stung.

Big shippies at the end of mukies is a pain if you miss the beach you end up way down by irongates with a monster walk back.

Yes it was massive and out of control, breaking wide and with a strong sweep. No one was out but while we w werechecking it a boogie boarder jumped in he was a regular from tauranga a Finn class national champ if I remember correctly, he used to sail at TYPBC ( Oldschool might remember his name ) anyway he got swept straight down to boneyards and got trapped inside, died of a heart attack.

We had quite a few people come up to the house with bad cuts and/or feet full of kina spines but I didn't hve any problems myself.

I had paddled out through there three times that day. As did others, so maybe seal was getting pis sed at all the traffic. Its an easy paddle, sweeps you straight to the peak. Have seen seals, small sharks, Orca, and assorted fish in the channel formed by rip. It could be pups, but wrong time of year. Mating season has finished this year I believe. Toasted, if that fullah is a mate of yours, maybe he could rally DOC to help bitten fullah get his own back? Was a new board, he was guttered.
