I reckon one day, snap. Cos let's face it, we'll pay it, won't we?

I used to think electric cars would be the answer until someone recently pointed out the destructive mining that needs to go on to obtain all the stuff to make the batteries and components.

So yeah, we'll fark the world one way or another. I hope for a simpler life though. A return to community based living and interaction. But that said, I'm a 25 min drive from the beach, and don't intend to stop surfing until I'm a very old man...

We'll be at $2:00 by the end of the year...and Dumbells right- we'll be paying it as well.

Electric cars would be a lot cooler if they sounded like a sacked out high performance european engine, or V8, until then....

Classy set up scooter economic and stylish...but how does she handle in a gusty side wind?

I once had an Yammie XT 250 with a board setup like scabs. Use to catch the wind a bit but never found it an issue. Great for getting to the harder to reach spots. But the XT was a trail bike ... the scooter may struggle in soft sand

Can carry my 9'6" on it but its a bit sketchy over 80kph or when windy
fine with my shortboards even when windy
i have wetty bucket on back for clothes water ect
and glovebox locks for valuables
yeah think a trailbike set up would trump the scooter for sure blunt
use it every day for work and 3-4 surfs a week costs bout $9 in gas maybe $10 if gas hits $2ltr

yeah but like in recession people bought less so prices dropped slightly not much at all if its all supply and demand.

If everyone did those Dont buy gas from Bp for this day etc would prob force a lower price but never happens That and all the majors are linked to 2 different companys

yep but I like the scooter setup. Cool thing you have the freedom of going where you want without a carload of weather, swell, beach experts who all want to surf at different spots.

Last week my mate missed out on Epic beachy barrels on the chance of Cray Bay being good. Its wasn't ... and he saw what he missed. Gutted!

motorbikes in the UK are not an option, though people do use them, the first thing we used to check when buying a car was how hot the heater blew!!

Hah same here. There was a car for sale on the side of the road one day that had a sign on it saying
"Corolla, goes great, fierce comfortable. No timewasters or tyrekickers"

57 cents a litre here.
Fat cats are syphoning the tank before you even reach for the pump.. & supply (& cost effective extraction) ain't really an issue for a longtime (some say 100yrs).

Fat cat = There is a rich list out there that you will never see in print,
eg. one person from this unseen list makes 2b US a week through oil...
too hard to fathom aye
