A bank up Muriwai somewhere. Head and a 1/2 consistent faces, top to bottom every other wave and lefts reeling for ages.
There were some pretty nice barrels being had although I have to admit I didn't find myself inside any.
Plenty of pumping waves for everyone.
Drift was a bugger though.

Sweet rides out at Muriwai yesterday. I haven't seen it break out so far at Muriwai on full tide before. I wonder if this offshore sandbank has made its way up here finally.

Was paddling away constantly to stay on the bank yesterday thinking "there's not much wind, the SUP would be ideal in these conditions, a paddle here and there to stay on the peak" Then the sets came through and all thought of SUPing went out of my mind.
I'm sure that guy got whupped.

I think the call was 2-3 BP but I think they undercalled it a bit.

calling head and a half 2-3ft is more than slightly undercalling

Surfed north west of Auckland today. Went out over some private property to coast with farmers boy. Nice pointbreak left peeling around 100 meters. The boy was saying hes never seen anyone else surfing there, but his dad and he do regulary. Was a privilage to be there, it is accessable from coast and a short half hour walk. But I think that I will use my access with my new friends.

With tired arms and a massive grin on my face I sat on the beach after a great surf last Saturday afternoon and watched some wicked waves being ridden. There were some great barrels and some very good surfers in the water so the level of surfing was pretty high.
I seldom take any time to sit and watch cause I usually need to surf and get somewhere else but I'd love to do it more.

I just sat and watched, Didn't have the old camera tucked inside the wetty and wasn't going to walk all the way back and fourth to get it. We were quite away's from the cars.
Worth the walk though

My favourite pics of surf will forever be locked in my memory. I dont need to take them. Hving said that if I can I will, but usually nobody wants to when waves are up. Funny how my kids think Im a crazy snapper though haha.

Welly West on Sunday Nelly. A bit lumpy, but plenty of size. Three swells in one week all off the same low. Unheard of.
