Single fin surfing

I bet that board goes like a bat out of hell Seeka.

The main problem with 70's single fins was that they were often under finned or had badly foiled fins.

Also, singleins benefit from greater length as they use the rail more.

yeah good read, but not a s deck tho. the light is weird on that pic, statik thought it looked like a down tail rocker, so dunnu why it looks that way. here's a better pic...

just cutting back on weight Dunga.
it's quite a strong construction., so should be fine.

Yes it is right.

I found it most beneficial to grind off the typical poorly foiled singlefins and replace them with slightly larger well foiled ones which I'd buy from Wayne Parkes.

Regarding length very short singles cam't handle size as well as multi finned boards of the same length, you should know that.

i had that 6'0 single you made me out in easy over head to 2xOHand she handled really well. except on my third wave were she skipped a lil on the bottom turbn so i learnt to alter my lines.

personally, anythin over 10ft is too much board. you may as well take out a dinghy in the surf.

I used to ride a 10'4" single pitail in bigger waves .It skipped on the bottom too.so u c longer boards with a single fins are no good at all on bigger waves.
So take that and put it in you pipe and smoke it too Roy.

I wasn't really talking about longboards, and yes 6 foot singles can handle DOH nevertheless a few more inches in length can help a lot with singles... look at some of the waves being ridden at pipeline on sub 6 foot multi finned boards there's no way that singles under 6 feet would do as well, but get them up towards 7 feet and it gets better.
