btw..local rag reported about 4-5 shark attacks at oreti in last few yrs.
few weeks ago a diver did battle with a 2.5 mt 7 giller just accross the bay from porridge. gave the beast a solid taste of his spear gun to the throat.
apparently surfer attacks don't get reported. figures, tough bred here mate.
guy i sometimes surf with played wwf with a 7 giller at porridge a while back...gave it a neck hold and a few swift punches to the head and then a kick for good measure. we call it 'educating the fish'

I'd say there's a definite connection between the sharks and HAARP.

Maybe I can catch another Milford Reef session like the Cyclone Ivy one. Don't know if any of you were there, but it was off its chops 4-5ft that morning and clean as a whistle. And then in the afternoon I surfed Spot X at Orewa which was a filthy 3-4ft and hollow and smashed me.
Hasn't been a proper good cyclone swell since. Why couldn't that weather pattern just put itself on constant replay. Then the NE coast would be the place to be, and we'd even get town waves in Auckland breaking frequently.

Thing is there is good surf round auckland if you only surfed today then sure its crap but then by the looks of it the same nationwide today, naki would be smaller than up here is only place that may have a bit more of a wave would be down the fiords but ive heard that not much of a wave there ever
