It's dependent on swell size. Guns have their place but a clause may have to be written about them in the Krank surfing law restricting use in smaller conditions.
Then you may ask "so why not long boards in smaller conditions?" My answer is that people should realize that conditions small and fat enough for them to want to ride a long board just aren't actually worth even getting wet for. Just walk away. Its not like you see skaters out skating in the rain or snowboarders on mt eden, if the conditions aren't right do something else.
Also retro boards make me cringe. You may think your "stylin'" on it but in actual fact you look like a fuking clown.

Trestles report: yesterday, noon-3pm, solid 2ft, 18 C, lots of sun, light winds, obvious So Cal favorite. Peeling right hand perfection, longer rides than anything I've witnessed here thus far. So-so left making an appearance since past El Nino re-arranged the bottom contours. Cobblestones on steroids lie underneath on the inside and hurt like the d!ckens when met with force by one's knee.
"Mother nature never ceases to amaze" report on Hey-oooooo (I'm assuming the haters on shoreboys would find it uncomfortable)

Don't know how it would have been on the reefs was too lazy to drive down. Checked the local (Peks) and it was really average didn't even end up going out. Last Monday however was quite fun glassy 2-4 foot.
