Jesus Pipe fins that rig is hard to look at....you'd be million times better off fitting the mast inside the sail, getting some luff tension to get some shape inthe sail- then using a boom and sheeting off the end of it.
As you have it rigged at the moment that sail has the aerodynamics of a barn door....when its designed to be a fighter jet wing

The pic was taken as a moke up before I had finished rigging it .Now has rope ring things that hold the sail to the mast .The sail can hoist up the mast, if the mast was inside the sail I would not be able to hoist it or lower it .Works very well goes about half da wind speed up wind.

Teaching yourself t0 sail is awesome- its a great skill to have.
To answer your question thought to varying degrees I have been involved in building about 10 boats, which I have raced nationally and internationally.... I accidentially spent about 25 years being obsessed with sailing and racing, and the last 15 or so with windsurfing.... my comments were well intended, and I hope it goes like rocket
