No Utah generally not, most come bearing gifts and all of them have heard about this fancy new discovery called a vacuum cleaner coming soon to the pipefins whare when he doubles his income this year to a whopping 12,000pa if trademe is kind

i could ask him why he says "doesnt come with fins but you can have the pipe fins on it"

that would imply him not even considering them to be fins

Lol

PS,There was a puppet surfer who had to be rescued by the Waikanae surf life savers .He feel of and got tangled up in his puppet strings,Priceless.

I got 4 sheep homekilled a week ago and get the meat on Friday. One was a huge cryptorchid and he is being combined with one of the ewes and made into sausages and mince. The other 2 are being butchered into standard cuts. All 4 were hoggets and my freezer is going to be overflowing. I reckon there will be over a grands worth of fresh farm killed hogget ... that has cost me only $200 to be processed. All you vegos hope you enjoy munching on your carrot sticks and tofu burgers.

I still have 14 sheep left

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Although wait a minute, how much did that sheep growing land cost? And how much time do you waste travelling so you can pay all that off?

Why is it that you just state the processing costs? Which btw you could do yourself with a bit of practise.

Please when delivering cost assements of your projects please include:

Fixed costing
Variable costing
Your labour cost (charged at your current hourly rate by which you are employed.)

Why not? I'm a newbie farmer Johnny and would rather get the experts to do the work at this stage.

4 sheep gifted to me by the farmer for allowing him to graze some of my land = $0

Shearing costs for 4 sheep = $30

Drench = free (another freebie from another farmer)

Flystrike pour on = free (yet another freebie)

Looks like I'm still up on the deal there J_Utah. plus one of the ewes I had homekilled gave birth to a lamb which is now 5 months old.

^ He is right. What is the opportunity cost to the value of that land by grazing. You have to factor in all costs otherwise your just creative accounting.

Don't get me wrong man...if I could stand the country (..and I can't- because it smells of animal sh+t and pi*s) I would fully be doing the home kill thing, 'cept I would prpbably want to hunt them in the paddock... get dressed up in some camo and face paint and mutter some sh+t about VC and charlie.... but hey thats just me- and maybe Blunt isn't prepared to wait 4 hours with a knife under the water through until one happens by for a drink..... where was I again..?

...actually now that I think about it Blunt a new and exciting income stream for you could be "Hunt my Sheep" you get the gist from the title whats its all about, in short the sheep are dressed up as crazed viet kong/ middle eastern terrorsits/ IRD inspectors...or whatever... and for a fee the customer gets to hunt them down, you then get the meat processed and delivered to the shooter at a considerable mark up...everyone wins- except the sheep that is...
