Yeah, What's with Thursday 5-8ft of messy white stuff no doubt!

DB, you seem to be favouring the log as of late.... if you were to choose one, would that be your favourite weapon would you say atm? Must admit, after my 'not so enjoyable' session the other week on my log, took it out over last few days and had a great time. Would still prefer to be riding the FB though, just need some bigger waves

Do I prefer my left foot or my right one, Mosco?

I've ridden the fish the last two seshes. I usually have to talk myself into it though. My thorn with surfing is I'm not too shabby once I've caught the wave, but somehow I seem to miss ones other surfers would catch with two strokes. So for this reason, if I had to choose one board for the rest of my days, I'd take the log, and it's paddle-power.

I just love how twitchy the fish is though.

I know what you mean though... Horses for courses so they say. I was amazed at how easy paddling the log was after being on the FB for a while... Almost wierd, but it is great sitting further out than anyone else and takin' your pick

Nicholas Notara designed a collapsible surfboard whose frame is made of carbon fiber.

Notara carefully designed the board to maintain the balance and weight of a traditional surfboard. The surfboard breaks down and becomes half its usual size with the help of a quick release level and flipping two pins. The board can also adapt to the rides needs with its swappable fin system. While the board is a beautiful example of great design, it is unfortunately just a concept at this time. Maybe one for the future with rising baggage costs and airlines becoming difficult to deal with when travelling with a board.

1km north? I think I might drive up Aston too...

It was a thruster for its first two years with me, but I just got a set of Shapers new school twinzers for it at Christmas time. New board. I'll never ride it as a thruster again. Phenomenally loose and squirty.

Aww heck. Hope your boy cools down! Mine both had it, and Marko's wee girl is sick too.

We all need to buy family sunbeds, that's our problem.

If it's any consolation, I had a bit of a flounder sesh for the first part chasing walls that seemed to feather for a hundred meters and never break. Finally clued up and moved in a bit.

Marko had a screamer though - hooted like a train for a full 30 seconds after one wave.

Went for a surf on the Welly West on Sunday. I reckon the water was about 17 deg. Sunny with no wind, I reckon you could have got away with a springy. That's unseasonably warm by the way. The funny thing is that water temp during summer was unseasonably cold. It's warmer now than it was in Feb!

I reckon it gets heaps warmer the closer you get to scarbs. Kooks with the Ashley and the Mak is colder than North Beach was this am.

yeah i agree. Guys out in hoods and gloves at Scarb this afternoon?! The water wasn't too cold this morning, just the air. But the mak last week was just ridiculous.

Far out - I had a few weeks of boardies surfs here in summer, so it certainly wasn't cold. I don't mind boots but hate gloves/hoods. But on a midwinter dawn, i just love them.
