Hey-OOOOOO Christchurchians!!!
Haven't been to look - I'm assuming flatness till we get some NE windswell, or should I say grovel wind chop?
Riccarton Mall put me off Riccarton Mall before any quakeage happened - it's my personal definition of air-conditioned hell. But jebus you must have browned your trousers being there in a shake.
2ft taylors tonight , we are packing up and on the rd to the mighty W COAST ,A Pass camp and A walk through a bush or two on the way to get lost for a bit should do the buizzooo for now D B .

I wasn't born with the birthright, so I just got a Mal.
Took Mr 3 and Miss 4 mullet fishing at the Ashley rivermouth this avo. Throw line in, count to ten, pull line out - mullet. Did same at Motunau yesterday. Kids love it. And I'm getting really good at filleting small fish.
Nice mate. I was up the Ashley Gorge last Thursday for a jaunt. I saw 3 fish in about 3km of pristine looking river. Hard fishing to say the least but a spectacular spot.
Looks good tomorrow out south
Did you go over that pass into whatsit valley? Magical river.
Mags looks pretty perfect Weds morning, but I suppose every man and his dog thinks so too. I'm keeping an eye on something a little closer. I'll let you know if I'm headed there.

Hickory was better!! Went for an impulsive jaunt over to Okains on Tuesday - dawny at Hickory, solid 3 foot, absolute glass. Scored a surprise NW windswell at Okains yesterday, soft 2 foot, I've got to get a mal...

It'll be harder to sneak one of those in under the radar.
Christchurch city council EQ updates live on facebook - classic stuff:
Christchurch City Council
Mayor Parker - the events in the Central City area (Boxing Day quake) are behind us as the quakes move away from the city

Who is fixing boards in Chch at the moment? A mysterious ding has appeared in my Aloha which none of the family are owning up to - want to get it fixed pretty quick.

I was working but I seen it before sunrise. One of the best days brotown has seen in forever I reckon. Randomly good banks, decent size, good water temp. I got out just after the onshore kicked in, I missed it by an hour.
I hope some of you boys got amongst it earlier. Pics anyone?

Okay I admit it.......I'm a SUP'er groupie.
not brighton, but took a couple of pics from up the hill at taylors yesterday morning. apologies for low quality. zoom lens not very good

may i suggest a fast board...something hollow and wooden with a single spitfire fin...approx 10ft long..oh, and a pintail for low drag & easy rail to rail.

Your bank?
Do they have trolleys to carry their mals up there? I find it hard just cresting the dunes some days.

I was over for lunchtime and it was shoulder high peaky and offshore but the wind was getting strong.
Speaking of training, shouldn't you be swimming 5 km a day and practicing long lefts?

perhaps one of the forums many mal riders can shed some light on this?
I employ 2 eastern suburbs types to carry mine, they work for dirty drugs and spare change but they are not to be trusted to ride in my car, I find it easier just to make them run along beside my car...
My workers any relation BP?
Ive seen these chumps around Barry

That's a negative, Jello. 1ft cross chop sectiony weak dribble. Too much N and not enough W.
That said, the Taylors cam looks to show the occasional peak.
Hmmmm.

It was alright. Lully, 2-3ft and light offshore but got average as the tide came up. Few fun ones but unepic.
Gaaar! I did the whole of north Pegasus on the way home again, figuring there must be something. Crosschop at kooks, just about got the old scooby stuck at Ashworths, and whistle clean but too small at Amberley...
I'd have sold my soul for lully 2-3ft.
Port Leavy ... full moon....![]()
