Taylors nice 2-3ft on low tide. Weird how the wind blew up vicious NW gusty - i dashed over the hill and by the time i was out it was straight offshore and clean. Then the wind dies for an hour and then starts up NW. Def looks like a Taylors week this one.

Get out there Seeka - i see good S swells down your way on the paper every day - whats up?

just busy with work, kids etc. when i am free to go the surf is crap/wrong tides/winds etc..just bad timing and other commitments clashing.

i'm missing being in the sea, but then i've also got quite a bit done around here...so i guess it's just not meant to be at the moment.

also lost contact with my surf mate who's been busy somewhere between here and papa's(ph doesn't work at papa's)...as soon as i get in touch with him we'll organise a surf.

I took the Mal out for the first time in ages the other day as desperate to get a wave and it was pretty small..... I was surprised at, first of all how I struggled a little, as been getting used to the 'shorter 'board of late, and secondly, how much I 'didn't' enjoy it compared to surfing a 'Shorter' board!? .... never thought I'd feel like that!!

Its huuuuge Jelly.... Well, 7'6 Fatburner.... I know, its far from a shortboard... but for me coming down from a 9'10 it was a big step... but loving it! Am now contemplating something even shorter, but will have to be able to support my large but nimble 105kg frame ......Not really sure where to go from here tho' especially in Chch waves etc?

Cheers Jelly, might have to take you up on that offer.... Yeah, gonna keep the 7'6... love it. But being out this way, kinda wanted to keep the log as well. Might sell the 9'10 and get a phat Mini Mal for smaller days etc. Interested to see how I'd get on with a smaller board though, but would need something with some serious float I reckon.

Think what you like Snappy... In fact, it's crap, I wouldn't bother. Though, I have some pics of that break peeling left with some riders up on it to give scale etc. (if it's the spot I think it is). But I ain't posting em here, too many give-aways in the frame.

The thought of surfing it terrifies me actually, and kind of excites me at the same time.

Wasn't there for the dead low. Would have been pretty classic considering there were standup barrels on the high tide sets.
