Okay I admit it.......I'm a SUP'er groupie.
hopefully.
all the faultline talk is interesting.
to me, the faultlines we see in localised areas are just a small nick in a much bigger picture. the massive kermadec trench leads almost directly into chch. looking at inland faults is really just looking at tiny hairs at the end of a huge brush.
also, i'm still not convinced these plates are just floating around. the expanding earth theory seems to make more sense.

We just gotta hope that things are settling down now.
If the country gets another major event like this in the next few years.....we're gonna be seriously F'd for cash.

I wouldn't be out there. check out those weekly reports though - every monday on Ecans site. Taylors report for last week was good but you realistically would need to choose based on swell direction and wind also I guess. Calculated risk - 1-5% of getting gastro from a reading 2 weeks ago. I'd like to know where the readings are taken too.
E.g. Taylors has no known sewage outfalls currently so the readings would *probably* be based on outfall being pushed south by a north wind/swell. Where do they take the measurement from?
In Lyttleton harbour one of the bays has a massive high reading - but was it taken at low tide from close to a sewage outfall?
I see Sadhana [sadhanasurfboards.co.nz]have spruced up their website, the gallery has a 360 view of his mint boards now

In the current environment, there is no point in risking getting sick.

i really like this.easy to navigate. the retro look is cool as, as is the range of boards available...having single fins is something i havn't seen for sometime and i think that is a good thing.. the art on the boards is very pleasing on the eye(do you know if the shaper does this or does he have an artist). also, 360 view is very good.
i'm no site designer, but i know what i like and whoever designed this site has done an excellent job imo.

Ohhh...seeka...how about a guilded celtic cross inlay into a board? There's one there begging for it.

Gee that wind has really dropped. Kooks might be alright if the swell is getting in.

good luck Hulio, can you get a pic if poss?
you think just like my kids marko, i was scratching my head over graphics and they said the same thing..
so i did some knotwork on the quad...
a guilded celtic cross would look damn good tho...next board and it's on there...cheers!

and a wee celtic spiral for the pintail..

--------------------------------

^ that pic is not straight on..the circle is a circle, not oval.
--------------------------------
XXIst sentry scribe
actually, it's not a spiral either...just a basic circle knot.

do you do tats seeka ? nice job on the quad .

..
thanks jelly.
many of my friends have asked me to ink them. i have been reluctant so far,.mostly as there is a bit of negative energy that comes from cutting another persons flesh.
i have drawn designs for really close friends who want something personal to them. maybe one day i'll get some gear, but at the moment i have quite a few other projects on the go.
--------------------------------
XXIst sentry scribe
thankhuey for that Iam not ready...but have a few idears for ink time .
--------------------------------
..
Thats some beautiful work there seeka. And no one missed anything up the coast. rubbish 2ft crumbly
thanks ds,
i like cicles on the bottom of boards...makes the bitey fish think they are being watched...well, thats my theory anyway.
jelly, think about that ink some more.
ozzi osbourne once said...'if you want to be original then don't get ink, in a few yrs almost everyone will have tats'
