If you were sitting further out, and up and riding, I don't even know why he bothered. Deep down, he knew it too, so if you called him on it, I think he'd cave - unless he was bigger and angrier than you...

Strech is a grossly underrated shaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Typical longboard thats made to be ridden like a shortboard
EPS = not too durable from what i've seen.
Quad + 1 sounds like a good fin set up
$999 sounds like an okay price if it lasts....but the whole firewire thing seems a flash in a pan

Tue at scarborough was pretty pumpin - 4ft out the back and walling up for ages. Its rare you see the beach better than the bar in the right winds and swell. Epic paddle out tho!

Man - booties before the hood?
My head starts screaming before my feet so is always the first thing covered - and anyone that surfs in the south...always, always wear earplugs
forgot my bluetac last week and went out anyway..paying for it now..cant hear out one ear, and instant cold from water caught behind it..grrrr

Off to the doctors on Thursday to get my surfers ear referral T2. Figure that having a 2 yo and a 3 month old is probably the best time to get it done. Might have to hit Statik up for some plugs after that!

I dunno how you surf T2, but me, my feet spend more time in the drink than my scone. I don't think I got my hair wet until a wee frontside duckin to punchthru. I'm a bit of a sook in winter, I'll do anything not to duckdive.

You boys with your ears, I can wholeheartedly recommend Mr Statik's plugs, they don't come out, and they don't let any water in.

not trying to sink statiks business but bluetac is the biz
mould it to shape - seals everything out - never had any fall out no matter how hard I get rinsed
Been using the same pack for over 2 years now
and not even close to half way thru it

..still haven't got my winter wettie yet. The E-bomb sale ended so I'm looking at the o'niell psycho pro 4/3 instead. That plus a hooded 0.5mm hot top should be enough for what's looking ot be a cold chch winter right? i don't have much of a thermal fat layer..

Anyone use a 5/3?

I have a 4 3 and an old 5 3. A good 4 3 is more than adequate for Ch and i'm also minus any thermal fat layer. Was up in Nelson the weekend and the water is toasty, no ice cream headaches duckdiving there!

On the great earplug debate, i prefer statiks ones to bluetac. You can still hear perfectly well and don't even feel like you are wearing them.

A good 4/3 is fine quad6. If you got a 5/3 you'd regret it in the crossover months when you are freezing your ar5e off in your 3/2 and dehydrating in your 5/3. I was too hot with 1mm titanium under the 4/3 on Sat.

DS, your Nelson score is just unreasonable.

It was pretty frozen this morning. The trailer of firewood was empty, so I hitched it up to the Leone to go up the terrace and fill it. About 1/3 up the hill, she got loose on icey, muddy grass. From there, twas a high-revving low range skitter-fest to the crest, chanting "Oh....sh1tsh1tsh1tsh1t!"
