To be honest BC, it was 3ft and perrrfect orgasmic glass when we first arrived. I was supposed to be trip photographer, but I over-frothed and ended up being Mr Drop-in.

I surfed for an hour then the very moment I got out to take photos, it went cross onshore and got frikin Arctic, the glass disappeared and everyone's surfing went to crap.

There are a small handful of snaps shot from the carpark when we arrived that Marko might post which are weepingly beautiful. Both of you old women naysayers would pop your corks.

I genuinely think first to feet should have it. Plus if you're up and it ain't gonna section, a little fade to the curl always helps establish your authority...

I also think that if you realise the 'opposition' was first to feet, you should get off the wave pronto, and catch the next one!!! .... Why you asking Wave!? mmmmmmmmmm...... I'm having a baaaad day!!

Call it what you like. There were one or two 4 foot set waves, head and a half, but who cares? Was a primo surf with mates and a good mission. The hot whiskeys afterwards in the dark capped it off nicely.

is there any where in chch that will actually be able to handle that sort of swell if it does reach the proposed 6-8ft? i mean brighton has enough trouble on 4ft let alone 6-8 and taylors closes out on round the same size to!

Oops - BP. Sorry man I didn't mean to insinuate you are a rabid boogen.

Jabes would be able to get out the back at Brights 6-8ft.

If the swell's got some angle on it, Taylors might reel some giant lefts off the headland. Would I surf it? Hell no. I've heard a tale of a certain kook club member getting standup pitted off that point though.

There is one certain town spot, but I can't name it. Raupo or Le Bons would be likely candidates as the wrap should tame it and knock a foot or two off the size.

I think you can guess Jelly. There's actually two possibles - one's usually dry, and the other runs underground to the sea, but if it floods and breaks open there will be fleepin hell to pay banks next weekend.

You said it DB - from Wed onwards there are some excellent albeit possibly short lived spots to check

Taylors can handle 6ft+ but not a straight E swell - I'm gonna run over for a look though as there won't be much other options. If its 8ft, I'll bring a certain 7' 1 gun - but it will be purely for show.
