Interesting interview!
yeh got a subscription i'm usually very very critical in things that inform me or let alone getting a sub thingy over the net, i think getting a Journal (GC trendsjournal) is absolutely vital especially in these times, there's enough uncertainty around us and getting some stability of what lies ahead is absolutely vital, i'd advice anyone to get it or consider to get it, i'm that certain. I really wouldn't speak about it otherwise.

Ron Paul is as far from a nazi as it is possible to get and the elections in the USA are not only of interest to many people outside the country they also affect everyone, showing an interest in it does not imply that one thinks that one is living in the USA so your first premise has not been established.
your trolling of PFS is getting lame

Of course that 3 of europeans hardest hitting countries ( itally spain and greece ) all installed fresh presidents all ex goldman sachs has nothing to do with it. You're living in denial. It's a government take over by the banker cartel,G sachs for one . They've collapsed the economy so they can move in their people, you can't repay your loans. ok we'll take you're f.uckng country. This is great, now the bankers run the country, I dont think these people where voted into power Democratically. . van Rompy president european council, same thing. But hey lets just not call it a nwo but a Financial secret fascist dictatorship that has been worked on and been in the making for decades, out of view. Same thing.
Obomba recently signed a bill where by ANY us citizen can be named a terrorist and be held and put in prison without trail, and also detain you out of the country without any known where abouts. This IS a police state THIS IS Fascism. These ARE exact fascistic and police state tools implemented in fact it is too surreal to get the true meaning of it but it will get meaning when those laws are used and put in to action, and they will. A fascistic goverment pointing out who is a terrorist.
Fascism with a smile.

You keep saying that but it isn't true.
Possibly you believe that truth is entirely relative and that seeing what other people see is evidence that one is being led by them and therefore not thinking for oneself?
If so I think that you are mistaken.

the jackboot is on the other foot im afraid,
its been a the major achievement of the far right worldwide to rebrand themselves as 'liberal',
Distance their 'stronger rule the weaker, market force is all, unfettered capitalism and greed is good' ideology from nazism and paint the left as the source of laws that fetter freedom for individuals...
all to easy when far right egomaniacs like Murdoch control massive swathes of the media.
These are the same people that said 'jolly good' when hitler rose to power, the same people that invaded afghanistan and Iraq and said that previous allies saddam hussien and noriega were dictators that needed to be got rid of, and the same people (here for instance) who talk about parity in wages with australia but work towards the lowest wages possible for the workforce...
the new definition of liberal and libertarian just means liberty for those with enough money to be above and beyond the law...
PFS I can understand but Roy should know better... unfortunately his boundless ego makes him think hes some sort of aryan ubermensch billionaire in waiting, rather than being in a situation that would rapidly deteriorate in a fully neo conservative political environment....
Shameful

oh yeah, happy new year

heres a perfect example of "libertarian" 'I am rich therefore I am above the law' thought, i read this the other day but found a different and fairly tongue in cheek article on it...
Anyone who has played Bioshock will be alarmed how closely this imitates the games basic premise, that the rich and brilliant sought to create thier own city state of unfetterred capitalism, tech and bio research, (at sea!)answering to no countries laws... perhaps someone should send Mr Van Thiel a copy of the game, it doesnt end well for the would be super beings...
__________________________________________________
Tech Billionaire Donates $1.25 Million to Create Libertarian Islands
PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel recently told Details that he was donating $1.25 million to the Seasteading Institute, which was started by Patri Friedman, the grandson of economist Milton Friedman.
The Seasteading Institute hopes to build independent city-states on platforms in the ocean,
While the prototype will probably hold only around 270 people, Friedman hopes that eventually millions of people will live on his little man-made islands, the first of which he plans to set off the coast of San Francisco. Why go through all of this trouble?
“The ultimate goal,” Friedman says, “is to open a frontier for experimenting with new ideas for government.” This translates into the founding of ideologically oriented micro-states on the high seas, a kind of floating petri dish for implementing policies that libertarians, stymied by indifference at the voting booths, have been unable to advance: no welfare, looser building codes, no minimum wage, and few restrictions on weapons.
Finally, Friedman and Thiel will be free from the horrible country that allowed them to prosper to the point where they are now thinking of building their own goddamn islands. One wonders who will be allowed on this libertarian paradise; any nation, no matter how laissez-faire, could probably survive if filled with a homogeneous, wealthy population. Look at Luxembourg! But what if regular ol’ poor folks try to paddle their way over to Ayn Rand Island?
Millionaire tech geeks might not like the idea of roaming gangs of desperately underpaid workers walking around with machine guns, shooting at their poorly constructed houses.
Of course, this is assuming anyone would want to move to what is essentially a modified oil rig in the first place. Not to mention the United States probably would not be too keen on having a freely polluting tax haven as a neighbor. There is one advantage to all of this: at least some of Silicon Valley’s most self-righteous millionaires would be tempted to leave our country.
as a footnote the honduras have cleared laws to allow these 'islands' to be built
--------------------------------
www.heavywater.co.nz
i bet smarter somali pirates and a few criminal organisisations are rubbing thier hands with glee at the prospect of concentrated pockets of the ultra wealthy sitting on a modified oil platform in the middle of the ocean waiting to be plundered.

Roy sticking up for the nazis and the KKK again...
Ron Paul's iconoclastic stances on foreign interventions, civil liberties and the war on drugs are unfortunately winning him much support from naive "progressives"—despite the fact that he is clearly a right-wing wackjob.
The Addicting Info blog assembles from the public record, "16 Ron Paul Quotes That Prove He Is NOT A Liberal.
" He disses gay marriage as "an act of social engineering profoundly hostile to liberty."
He rejects the very concept of separation of church and state, saying (combining bad history with bad politics): "The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance."
He rails against Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as unconstitutional (huh?).
He vents wrath at affirmative action and says he would vote against the Civil Rights Act if it were to come before Congress today.
And of course, the free market will take care of everything:
"The freer the market is and the more respect you have for private property, the better the environment is protected." This after lax oversight caused last year's Gulf Coast oil spill!
To these we can add one gem dug up by Gail Collins in the New York Times:
"The founders of this country were well educated, mostly by being home-schooled or taught in schools associated with a church," he reasons. Those of us who were not born in the gentry could presumably go back to sowing and reaping hay.
"Ron Paul Is A White Supremacist." NewsOne docments the links between Paul and the ultra-right John Birch Society—the voice of paranoid anti-communism during the Cold War and today a peddler of anti-immigrant paranoia
Paul, it seems, was the keynote speaker for the John Birch Society's 50th Anniversary, telling the assemblage
"The John Birch Society is a great patriotic organization featuring an educational program solidly based on constitutional principles. I wish them continued success and endorse their untiring efforts to foster 'less government, more responsibility…and with God’s help…a better world.'
NewsOne then goes on to note the broad overlap between the John Birch Society and the Ku Klux Klan and racist radical right. One notorious Bircher was William Pierce—founder of the blatantly white supremacist National Alliance, and author of The Turner Diaries. The book credited with inspiring Timothy McVeigh to bomb the Alfred P. Murrah building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people.
Is this the kind of "revolution" Ron Paul wants to see?

No i think this was on a government ( federal ) level and i think having it made part of the constitution, which makes it again a right statement. I think if you make it a federal right you're going in the direction of a whole heap of trouble. And it's impinging directly on religion. There are churches or religious communities that don't want to recognize gay marriage, and i think it opens the door to couples argument or demandings they have the right to be married, while the religious fraction or group doesn't want to.
Also: "
Paul has also stated he doesn't want to interfere in the free association of two individuals in a social, sexual, and religious sense.
When asked if he was supportive of gay marriage Paul responded "I am supportive of all voluntary associations and people can call it whatever they want. "
But it should be left to the states ( or communities ?) Or Councils? they reside in.
He rejects the very concept of separation of church and state, saying (combining bad history with bad politics): "The Founding Fathers envisioned a robustly Christian yet religiously tolerant America, with churches serving as vital institutions that would eclipse the state in importance."

(huh?).
So does rick perry, and it isn't in the fundemental constitution as it was first presented . I don't think he ever said it wasn't a right. Or vital.
He goes further on to argue that: ( actually " Rand " Paul"
"PAUL: With regard to the idea of whether you have a right to health care, you have realize what that implies. It’s not an abstraction. I’m a physician. That means you have a right to come to my house and conscript me. It means you believe in slavery. It means that you’re going to enslave not only me, but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants who work in my office, the nurses.
Basically, once you imply a belief in a right to someone’s services — do you have a right to plumbing? Do you have a right to water? Do you have right to food? — you’re basically saying you believe in slavery.
I’m a physician in your community and you say you have a right to health care. You have a right to beat down my door with the police, escort me away and force me to take care of you? That’s ultimately what the right to free health care would be." And i think it's a good argument. Tough, but he's right.

Hmm.
"The society upholds an originalist interpretation of the U.S. Constitution, which it identifies with fundamentalist Christian principles, seeks to limit governmental powers, and opposes wealth redistribution, and economic interventionism. It not only opposes practices it terms collectivism, Totalitarianism, and communism, but socialism and fascism as well, which it asserts is infiltrating US governmental administration. In a 1983 edition of Crossfire, Congressman Larry McDonald (D-Georgia), then its newly appointed president, characterized the society as belonging to the Old Right rather than the New Right.
The society opposed aspects of the 1960s civil rights movement because it claimed the movement had communists in important positions. In the latter half of 1965, the JBS produced a flyer titled “What’s Wrong With Civil Rights?,” which was used as a newspaper advertisement. In the piece, one of the answers was: “For the civil rights movement in the United States, with all of its growing agitation and riots and bitterness, and insidious steps towards the appearance of a civil war, has not been infiltrated by the Communists, as you now frequently hear."
I"m inclined to believe that, There's nothing wrong with civil rights though "Human rights", is a more correct description, if we're talking about -african- american civil rights movement - there are different civil right movements and i'm inclined to believe that the civil rights movement was infiltrated by a communistic agenda , i don't know how many pages i'd have to dig into to find evidence of that but i think that was the true motive for being against the civil rights movement. I don't think it had any thing to do with the liberties that it professed and fought for. And it's still not at the level that it should be, equal.

-But. The civil rights movement was a world wide political movement. And in France for one "Most of the protesters espoused left-wing causes, communism or anarchism,"
So i think RP has founded reasoning of being against the c.r.m today. I don't think it's got anything to do with the equality between black and white but the way and method it's being being fought under or by.
It states on wikipedia that he ( William Pierce ) was BRIEFLY a member of the john Birch society, hardly an identification or reflection of what the john birch society is, you can't just relate a whole group or society with the identity of one person, who also was just " briefly" a member. but it looks like that is exactly what this news program was inclined to do.
One notorious Bircher was William Pierce—founder of the blatantly white supremacist National Alliance, and author of The Turner Diaries. The book credited with inspiring Timothy McVeigh to bomb the Alfred P. Murrah building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people. IRRELVANT!! Your honour.

doctors have the right to go public or private in countries where there is a welfare state... these nazi fools always take thier selfish world view to extremes to try and prove thier point.

The far right have no interest in anyone but themselves, thats precisely why they are on the far right of the political spectrum, part of that is 'the stronger rule the weaker', add to that 'by any means necessary' and you get the tea party...

fascism is the merging of state and corporate power, something Ron Paul opposes and has opposed for the past 30 years.

Yes quite so but the opposition have discovered that when controlling the weak minded masses of which statik is a member there's no need for the propaganda to contain even a shred of truth. For some curious reason the opposite of the truth does exceptionally well amongst the most gullible and depraved... in short they prefer lies to the truth.

Your allusion is misplaced, I know several and have no doubt that more exist.
Dr Paul is not in the mainstream medical mould as you know he wishes to change the system... legalising drugs for example, and making treatment non compulsory.
Because of his differences with the mainstream medical industry it is perfectly logical to like him while detesting the industry at large .
