Come on BP... seeka is OK, odd view by my standards but still somewhat grounded in reality...

Roy has completely lost touch with reality, his woodwork projects are unrideable by anyone but roy but he insists they are the ultimate wave riding machine, he supports ultra right wing bloggers and gang members whilst denying that thier nazi ideology is anything but libetarian, hes certifiable on many levels...

and we all know what happens to crazy people who think that the world is persecuting them and thier way is the only way (not to mention crazy people with scruffy beards and a penchant for sackcloth)

oh and for seeka....
my mrs didnt work until 2 years ago and still only part time, as a result both kids speak pretty good japanese, my daughter has excellent grades and is going to uni... My boy also does well at school and plays very good gee-tar for a 13 year old with (i thought) no apparent interest in music (well not mine anyway!)and as for gaming, i write reviews for gaming mags (as does my son, i do the adult stuff and he does the tween stuff) and we get free games and consoles to bang about on, me and the boy enjoy it... a lot, granted he could get out in the outdoors more but if your not into it, you aint,

much like people couldnt work out why i didnt like football and cricket, eventually i found music, skating and surfing... so im not worried at all if hes a couch warrior ..... i just let them be themselves and i dont try to foist my views on them.

Certainly havent succeeded as far as surfings concerned ha ha

thats great statik, we have more than surfing in common then. i have no time for team sports either, i mean good on em and all, but it gets a bit ridiculous at times when fans(fanatics) go mental and idolise others cus they can run or kick a ball well. i admire their talents, but i think it's wrong to treat them like some kind of God. and then if the fans team loses it's like the end of the world for them..major depression even.

i express my opinions on certain topics to them..it's my right, and as a parent i feel i can educate them as i feel fit..but half the time they think i'm nuts anyway so i don't think they take much notice of my rants lol.

both mine had lots of potential, both could ride the whitewater from day one (sonny caught the first wave i pushed him into, stood up, rode it to the beach and stepped off on the sand, I still think half his lacksadaisical attitude towards surfing was he kinda felt hed been there and done that after that!)
i think the dirty west coast boomers scare the cr@p out of em really, even on 3ft days its pretty daunting for a grom... daughter says shes def getting back into it this summer so ill reserve judgement... Sonnys pretty keen on the boogie board so hes still in the water but doesnt seem to want to get some fins and venture outside.... anyway one thing we all know as surfers is your hooked from the first wave... and if your not... you aint gonna be

skateboard parks used be our thing, that and the beach. every weekend was spent finding good parks and encouraging them to push their limits. once when our eldest was about 7yrs we found this hell oldschool half pipe at pakuranga somewhere..a wooden thing that had about 8 ft of vert, master 7 was a bit nervy and and i told him the worst he could do was bust himself up or he could drop into it and live the stoke...seeing that kid fall out of the sky and drop down a vert that most teens wouldn't attempt still brings a warms my heart, gutsy bugger..infact, the teens cheered him on and couldn't believe their eyes.

my kids learnt to respect the ocean on the wild west aucks coast. i used to push #1 son on his boogy board and i had the fins on..going up waves was awesome, i'd push him high and he'd then pull me over the wave, then i'd line him up for a set wave and haul him into what must have seemd like monsters to him cus they were atleast head high by me..lol. he doesn't surf now though..even though he could. i think the octopus that grabbed his leg once shook him up a bit..that and a few near drownings, he's happy to just skate and says surfing is gay..lol.

Isn't it reasonable to suggest that there are cases where having killed someone ( perhaps by accident, or perhaps in defence of oneself or others ) does not make one as 'filthy' as Hitler ?

The law certainly reflects that idea and in this case i agree with it.

Seeking validation? Not me mate, I'm just telling it how it is .

The fact that it has to be explained to you in detail that Scooter's statement is incorrect doesn't say much for your intelligence !

A one word answer seemed just as sufficient in this case as an answer of 'incorrect' to the proposition that the 'world is flat'.

Well firstly I dont smack the 1010's DB.

However if I did, and when I got home they were halfway through not eating their vegetables (or just up to the 500,000 mark on murdering jews) then I would.

Yes, I do see your point. Totally. I also see a sh it load of gray though, as I do in most everything.

It's like the ship full of innocents on The Dark Knight, it's a nice idea blowing up the crims - we support it maybe... but when it comes to pressing the kaboom button?

I painfully see Scab's point. Even if I were taken emaciated from a Camp, Hitler was placed on a stool in front of me, and a gun put in my hand... if I pull the trigger, what separates me from him?

That said, if I could save my children from said theoretical camp (theoretical to acknowledge I would dare not insult those who went there by assuming I could even one iota begin to imagine their feelings and trauma) I would kill him with a teaspoon.

There are countless other scenarios which involve the killing of a person which are better counter examples to Scooter's statement than that, due to the fact that they don't involve premeditated murder.

Thus disproving Scooter's theory only requires us to agree ( for example ) that an accidental killing or one in self defence does not make one as filthy as Hitler.

rutter
Rutter an occupational surname for a player on the fiddle.

Secondly, the surname may have been developed from a somewhat derogatory nickname, possibly for an unscrupulous person, derived from the Old French "rotier, routier", robber, highwayman, flasher, footpad.
