yeah i have never felt a earthquake b4 2hours ago! it was crazy! like a massive swell under the house! still getting heaps of aftershocks too! what a start too the weekend!
Yeah I'm in the CBD - took this pic just around the corner from our place... at least our area still has power, No water though, lucky there was still a bit in the tank to flush the big one I iust dropped!

apparently if you are on sand in a violent quake, it liquefies and you sink like you would water, just at a slower rate.

we have had slight-ass tremours here for the last two weeks, seven slight shakes that you can hardly feel in a day, I knew god hates chch though

so i went to work early
Hope the chch boys and girls are all fine
police found a dead woman on Manchester St and initially thought the Quake had killed her but it turned out she was just another murder so they closed the case

Looters in chch? I always thought of the south island as a ultra safe place. It was in nelson anyway.

That looting thing would've been blown up by the media. A couple of drunk guys on their way home were probably standing beside a shop when a window broke and an old lady across the road thought the worst.
But yeah that quake was insane. It is still noticeably shaking every few minutes now.

I only had power flick off for during the quake but it was straight back up. I sure hope our water gets sorted within a few days, it's gonna get a bit feral otherwise.

we had a party going at home when it hit...the walls turned to rubber...we put in a 5m steel beam as part of the renos and I told everyone to get under that until the next big one, then we all went out side....everyone bolted thinking that there could be a wave.
As we were leaving sth brighton the bridge started opening up as we were driving over it...farkin movie sh1t...crazy times...the aftershocks are still quite strong
