That's highly debatable, most doctors in my opinion are just pill company reps.

Did you know that doctors no longer make the Hippocratic oath in the USA ?

There's a reason why. They are there, knowingly or not, to assist in depopulation and incremental genocide, not to heal people.

Bill Gates stated recently that vaccinations would lower population in the third world, suposedly so that he can keep the air cleaner.

Figure that one out.

Then there was the government school 'health' programme in the 60's to drill out perfectly healthy molars and fill them with mercury amalgam as a way of preventing tooth decay.

Our Murder House dental nurse at Pillans Point Primary in Tauranga not only perpetrated this crime on us via government decree she also caused so much unnecessary pain and drilling that she was sacked for sadism. She was a witch of the first order, if only I knew then what I know now I'd destroy the Murder house with her in it... . Her name was Nurse Dearlove.. . . that sort of lie is typical of the servants of the dark side.

I have. . I was the four year old in the other chair who suffered the agony in silence.

Jeez, where to begin..

Roy, I am sorry you have had negative experiences with health care in the past. Medicine, like any other branch of human history, is littered with the victims of trial and error. Doctors are a subset of the general population - this means a varying level of competence and knowledge, plus of course the very occasional criminal (Harold Shipman etc). Unfortunately with current technology this is probably the best system we have for providing health care to those who want it. If you have a better system i'd love to hear it.

My personal opinion is that things now are a lot better than 20 or 30 years ago, for two main reasons:

1) evidence based medicine - the concept that treatments provided should be proven by well constructed studies to be of more benefit than harm

2) increased accountability of health professionals, via a variety of mechanisms, including mandatory requirements for continuing education, independent investigatory bodies like the Health and Disability Commissioner, and a media (NZ Herald, 60 Minutes etc) that likes nothing better than to point out the failings of the health care system.

The result of this is that doctors are under more scrutiny than ever before, and more pressure to provide treatments that work and have strong science behind them. There is no 'dark side' (especially with regards to depopulation and genocide!?!)- merely a lot of well-intentioned people trying to do the best job they can with the information and resources available.

I would be particularly interested to hear why you think the so-called 'dark side' is getting worse.

As for being "pill pushers" for drug companies - the structure of the NZ health system (mostly taxpayer funded) means that the majority of doctors have no financial incentives to precribe one treatment over another, unless you consider free pens and the occasional club sandwich at a drug company funded brunch as being financially significant. Drug companies are a slightly different matter - they are an unholy hybrid of health care and money making - which is why all doctors are now trained to accurately intepret study data - often drug company funded - with a healthy degree of cynicism.

The Hippocratic Oath is no longer taken because the literal elements have been deemed unacceptable in our current society. If the Hippocratic Oath were taken today some elements in it would include giving preference in medical school places to the children of doctors, refusing to perform abortions, not performing surgery for kidney stones etc. Most medical schools use some sort of modified oath which is made relevant to modern society.

As for your appendix being taken out unnecessarily - despite a ton of high tech equipment for scans etc there is still a significant "false negative rate" for appendicectomies - between 5% and 20% of resected appendixes are normal. At a population level this is acceptable, because leaving everybody with suspected appendicitis until the diagnosis was more certain would result in more perforated appendixes, multiorgan failure, and death etc etc.

As for your surgeon being drunk - if true this would be totally unacceptable in current practice and grounds for being struck off the medical register.

Your comments about steel implants are just plain weird - although I'm not a dentist, steel implants etc may be helpful as temporary fixes for decayed baby teeth. Are you suggesting that healthy teeth are being removed? If so I'd like to see the evidence.

Your comments re: knives are fairly alarming. Fortunately (except in the dire emergency setting, for example where someone is unconcious and there are no family to provide informed consent), an operation cannot be performed without informed consent from the patient. I think you would get your wish about surgeons not coming near you with their instruments - if you refuse despite being informed of risks/benefits, they don't operate, and if you threatened them with knives hospital security and the police would rapidly remove you from the surgeon's noxious presence.

In general the studies of vitamin C for influenza/colds (plus all the other stuff it's claimed to be of benefit for, like cancer) have not really suggested a significant benefit. The chance of seeing well constructed large scale trials about this is pretty small, because for the drug companies there is no money in it... so I suspect for the near future vitamin C will be stuck on the fringe.

As for the specialists deciding the guy had no hope - again very complicated! For intensive care in general, let alone a treatment as dramatic as ECMO, the evidence for who should recieve it and how long treatment should persist for before abandoning ship is very limited - it is currently a 'best guess' scenario based on the patient's age/other medical problems/response to treatment/patient's prior wishes/family wishes. It is NOT an exact science and the doctors will occasionally be proven wrong. That's not to say that keeping people in ICU indefinitely 'just in case things get better' is the right thing to do - intensive care (especially ECMO) is pretty awful for the patient and family, with lots of ups and downs, unexpected setbacks, painful invasive procedures etc, and looooong recovery times even in the best circomstances. Many families will watch all this happen and if things are not improving say "enough is enough".

Unfortunately there is also a health economics aspect to it as well - ECMO for example is a hugely expensive treatment; for the cost of attempting to save one life with prolonged ECMO you could probably use the money to save quite a few more lives with heart procedures etc... such is the stark reality of living in a 'free' taxpayer funded health system, there are only so many $$$ to go round.

Hope this has answered your question Seeka!

[censoring system wouldn't let me spell circOmstances correctly! ]

A message from hell.

once the biatch had done most of my perfectly healthy molars she started to drill out the backs of my perfectly healthy front teeth and fill with poison. i then decided she was wack and went home rather than suffer her selfish wrath again.

for the most part i thought it was all about the murder house nurse gaining a quota to improve her personal qualifications.

Ha! No way - there are many situations where conventional medicine can't even provide a diagnosis, let alone a cure. If you go down another avenue and it makes you feel better - why not!

Just watch out for the scam merchants - there is a fine line between offering an unconventional treatment because it MAY provide some benefit and is worth a crack, and extracting lots of money from people at a vulnerable time in their lives.

You don't know the facts.

All I had was a brief case of gas from eating mandarins right after cream buns, this was gone before the doctor arrived I had no pain, swelling or other symptoms whatsoever.

Taking the organ out was rank incompetence.

As for your surgeon being drunk - if true this would be totally unacceptable in current practice and grounds for being struck off the medical register.

The doctor who did a home visit and sent me to hospital was drunk, not the surgeon. He did no examination at all just sent me to hospital to cover himself. Once in hospital surgery was inevitable.

Your comments about steel implants are just plain weird - although I'm not a dentist, steel implants etc may be helpful as temporary fixes for decayed baby teeth. Are you suggesting that healthy teeth are being removed? If so I'd like to see the evidence.

Healthy teeth were drilled out in the 1960's as a matter of government policy.

Your comments re: knives are fairly alarming. Fortunately (except in the dire emergency setting, for example where someone is unconcious and there are no family to provide informed consent), an operation cannot be performed without informed consent from the patient.

I was talking not only of knives, I said STEEL INSTRUMENTS that includes drills, and needles as well as scalpels etc.

Compulsory vaccination is what was on my mind.

When I was operated on I did not give my consent.

I think you would get your wish about surgeons not coming near you with their instruments - if you refuse despite being informed of risks/benefits, they don't operate, and if you threatened them with knives hospital security and the police would rapidly remove you from the surgeon's noxious presence.

Compulsory vaccinations are what I'm alluding to, and I'm also allowing my indignation over past events to exist.

Like i said, less people, less carbon emissions, easier to control. Nikola Tesla had the ability to control weather and shake the ground and he was silenced by the powers that be. I don't know, but he'll be in hot water if I ever run into him.

'Doctor' Derry Seddon BOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!

The old man had accountancy exams coming up and had a spot of insomnia. He went to the quack in question and was given valium, after the first dose he was a complete mess as he's violently allergic to it. He flushed the lot down the toilet and went called the quack to tell him what had happened ( it wasn't pretty ) seddon precribed stronger valium and said that if my father didn't take it he'd have him sent to hospital and force fed it via a drip. Pretty radical considering that he was perfectly healthy when he went for the first doctor's visit. Anyway he took the stronger stuff and it went from ugly to very ugly, he was going up the wall with demonic hallucinations and severe paranoia. Eventually his mother took hin to her place in Auckland where her scottish doctor ( Dr Herbert ) threw the stuff away and he started to recover. It was months before he could get up the courage to get to the gate to collect the mail, and that's a man who once stormed a gang headquarters in SA singlehanded even though he's not even a large person i.e. he's got considerable natural courage.

The quack is a jerk of the first order.

Another horror story:

My friend Joseph as his tonsils removed in Tauranga a few years ago. The surgeon failed to notice that he was bleeding excessively, and he was dosed with morphine and left unatttended in a ward.

Joseph recalled that he noticed the huge amount of blood he was losing but was unable to move or call anyone because of the morphine.

Fortunately his mother who is a doctor visited to see how her only son was faring. She discovered that he had lost nearly half his blood. They managed to save him but if his mother had visited a little later he would have died.

Well said Lt 2020.

Technically speaking a sligshot is a Y shaped stick with elastic, the word you are wanting is 'sling'. . . a different and far greater weapon.

From my understanding a sling has a lot more power and range but is harder than a slingshot to aim. So in a close quarter fight against squirrels the slingshot is your thing, but if you're up against an elephant at long range you'd better hope you have a fricken massive sling!

Yeah but if David had had an AK47 he could have got the job done with a lot less hassle.

Yes but at close quarters against anything and/or everything, the sling becomes an admirable flail, rather like the traditional European women's weapon of the rock in a sock.

For trench warfare however we advocate the spikey rock trolley:
