If you work away the clip and just listen to the music, i don't know it just sounds like it's friggin new, but then i aint an hip hop expert, but dig the grungy back ground esp. in the begining. Plus a nasty taste in the mouth. Nice. Bad ass track.

Dubstep is pretty crap though, can only listen to so much ecno before it gets annoying. Especially stoner dubstep.

Roxy Music circa 'For your pleasure' and 'Stranded' were probably the best band in the world between 74 -76

According to Wikipedia The Ramones formed in 74 while the Sex Pistols formed in 75. I guess that indeed makes the Ramones the pioneers of Punk, although it's debatable how much they influenced the Sex Pistols.

your love of the ramones is exemplary... which only makes your love of lame rock farts like canned heat and aerosmith somewhat bewildering..... and thin lizzy whilst jolly good were, by any standards a pop rock band.

The skyhooks, patti smith, richard hell, etc etc vanguarded the US punk movement, which was NYC bohemain art types trying to rebel.
the english punk scene followed but was much younger very political, undoubtedly more influential in defining punk rock and like all truly great music was inspired by hardship and suffering, in this case the suffering of britain under the filthy tory heel of thatcher.

pre punk americana was patti smith, velvet underground, the tubes, skyhooks, televison, the prog rock backlash started about 74 with bands rebelling against the likes of ELP, Yes and Floyds masturbatory doodlings and getting back to 3 minute rock n roll songs... as noted though US punk was bored rich college kids trying to be bad whereas brit punk was poor white yobs hopped up on reggae and ska with an axe to grind with endless right wing politricks
