A similar trend occurred in the water for a few years, a long line of team riders rarked by local shaper franchise legends into being the one to take Roy down.
It's rather good fun, like Asterix with a Roman Legion, it ends in many a silent scream as they fail to do this and that to Roy as intended, while the shaping franchise controller paces the beach in tooth gnashing rage . . .
I could go on regarding failed attempts to pull on my non existent leash, the sudden dawning of the truth on hired riders regarding the folly of dropping in, or the amusing attempts to use stink eye and nasty whispers to someone in a pink wetsuit and visored helmet.
Then there's the legendary threats of police action from the equally legendary chimpaon surf trollette B Goodwin after I warned her not to drop in a second time using her correct name 'Botch', and the failed attempt to punch Roy out on the beach afterwards by her pet drunk known as Kroggs.
Those were the days, they've all dried up and blown away now it seems.
