Kia ora,I have invented pipe fins and think you would like the ride they give.many other are now using them on kneeboards,shortboards,longboards and stand up paddleboards.Dont be scared of them ,they will be good for your surfing.Find the PIPE FIN range on trademe from only $40nz.
