The clock striked twelve and I glanced out the window to check the wind was still in the North East direction. Text my mates as I backed out the driveway. My phone beeped 4 foot and perfect. Started to feel excited as I new my wave drought was coming to an end.
I weaved across the country roads cows and sheep starring as I raced passed paddocks music blaring! Anticipation rising with every town that was passed through. As I moved down the hill I could see the mains of waves blowing out to sea. Down the dirt road and over the cattle stop, I checked my watch right on time for low tide.
Car park was full so there was no point checking surf. I pulled on my wetsuit and booties and raced through the paddock, the gate swung with a clang, across the rocks and down to my entry point.
What an afternoon!
The days you dream about which make surfing so great!
