Biggest wave ever surfed?
Garrett McNamara makes history again by breaking the current record of the biggest wave ever surfed (?). The wave came during the two month period of the ZON North Canyon Show 2011, with a height of around 90 feet.

Garrett McNamara paddles into the biggest wave of the year
Three days of perfect swell hit Praia do Norte. Ocean explorer, Garrett McNamara and Floridian, CJ Macias were in the right spot to take full advantage of what Nazaré had to offer. This was the first session with large waves to start this year’s ZON North Canyon Show 2011 exploration.
Rena on the Rocks
The container ship Rena hit Astrolabe Reef about 12 nautical miles off Tauranga early on October 5th. The surfing community is left in shock as 10 days on oil continues to pours from the stricken ship onto our beloved beaches. We will keep this blog rolling. Finless Rebellion
Just pay attention to what is happening at your home break on any given swell. Fundamentally things have not changed much: finned surfboards are still used by more then 99% of surfers. Yet the few finless boards present, if any, will be the center of attention at the peak, regardless of how friendly surfers might be.
Adam Grimson takes out the Gisborne Boardriders Triple Crown
New Zealand representative surfer, Adam Grimson, showed his class at the second contest in the Gisborne Boardriders club series, which was held last weekend (Saturday 24, Sunday 25 September) at the Red Bus break at Makarori.
