Northerlies had been hammering the capital for a solid few days and finally dropped off just as a solid ground swell was peaking along Wellingtons South coast. It was a holiday Monday the 4th January and after hitting a dawnie I swung by Lyall Bay to see what carnage was going on. I was surprised to see some order at the Wall with the drop'ins pulling out and everyone surfing in peace and harmony.
