Poll: Should Kitesurfing be run by Yachting NZ?

  • Yes Yachting NZ would support it well.

  • No it is more aligned with the surfing community and Surfing NZ should have the rights.

  • No a new association should be set up by Kitesurfers.

  • Don't know or care!

Wellington's notorious surfing summer is coming to an end. It has not been all bad with the odd south swell sneaking onto the South coast breaks. Don from Wellington sent us in these shots from Lyall Bay and Titahi Bay.

Back in February....

"Jumped in the car when Saturday's Norwester abated and headed for Titahi Bay to find around 50 refugees from the Lyall bay non-surf trying their luck in the choppy T. Bay waves. As it was after 7.00 p.m. and dull, the conditions were far from great for photography. Some of the guys were getting good runs out in the middle of the bay and most of these pics were from there. Even with a 500mm lens that was a stretch to pick them up so the quality is not terrific."
