Poll: Should Kitesurfing be run by Yachting NZ?

  • Yes Yachting NZ would support it well.

  • No it is more aligned with the surfing community and Surfing NZ should have the rights.

  • No a new association should be set up by Kitesurfers.

  • Don't know or care!

Sometimes I feel more like a courier than a photographer, driving all day from one place to the next. It's just as well New Zealand has a few nice sights along the way.

It was time to hit the road again following the last weekends Rip Curl Pro, but not before a quick midday blat around to Ruapuke where Billy Stairmand and Tim O'Connor delt to a few fun summer close-outs. One of the most stylish guys around, Tim O'Conner displays some pretty solid technique with a rather classy Ruapuke waft.

The east coast lit up with a nice east swell that lingered the remainder of the week. So much coast, so little time. If only this coast was more consistent..

The latest Kiwi Surf mag will hit the stands today! It's a cracker issue featuring a little something for everyone. Leon Santorik, Nick White and Paul Greenland venture deep down south to a place where three in the surf is considered a crowd; and score some secluded tubes. Also on adventure are Clint Reid, Luke Cederman and Nat Day, this time to an undisclosed Pacific hideaway where they take on super-shallow reefs and shed a fair bit of skin for their troubles. There are interviews with Richard Christie, Paige Hareb, Rangi Ormond and Keone Campbell. Plus Josh Kronfeld gets the best barrel you'll ever see by an ex-All Black. And as an added bonus, this issue also comes with a free Rip Curl Rubber Soul 2 DVD.
