Gold Coast

Posted on Saturday April 28th at 8:52 a.m.

I'm on the Gold coast at the moment, there have been non stop waves since I got back from the Beachley in Sydney, heaps of swell and really good conditions. I'm out of the water for a week though after hitting my face on the reef in my first heat in Sydney.

Superstition

Posted on Tuesday April 24th at 10:56 a.m.

This spell of crazy good weather coupled with swell after swell after leg-burning swell of magic surf conditions has been incredible. I hesitate to say it, but it does seem like the longest summer I can remember in Dunedin. Now I've said that it's likely to all end in a snowstorm that brings down powerlines, closes roads and turns the hot salt water pool into an ice rink.

Taranaki

Posted on Wednesday April 18th at 4:00 p.m.

Hey everyone. I just got back to the Gold Coast yesterday so I spent the day sorting all my gear and trying out a new board in warm water which was nice. Then this morning I caught the early flight down here to Sydney for the Beachley Classic. It was awesome going to Taranaki last week.

Showing off

Posted on Wednesday April 18th at 10:25 a.m.

Call me a show-off, but I love it when friends and family from overseas or up north come and visit Dunedin. It gives me a chance to show-off the town, revisit my favourite haunts and try out some of the tourist activities for myself.

Next stop Taranaki!

Posted on Tuesday April 10th at 8:36 a.m.

I'm really excited to be over in NZ right now, it's so pretty! I'm staying with friends and my brothers and sisters and looking forward to the Taranaki comp. It's cool to see everyone here and I really enjoy being back in NZ! Last week at Bells was a lot of fun as we had consistent swell throughout the contest and the waves were mostly clean with nice bowls to hit.

What do jet skis and dolphins have in common? Not much, but they both formed part of an experience for me this week that I will never forget.

Good times

Posted on Tuesday April 3rd at 3:38 p.m.

I don't know about you, but I'm almost starting to feel a bit guilty about how good we've had it this summer. Last week was just another out of the box with back-to-back surf, perfect St Clair Point (nice to see the sand shifted back into place there!) and dreamy, azure autumn days.

Bells

Posted on Tuesday April 3rd at 12:00 p.m.

Had a good trip down here to Bells, one of the girls was injured for this event, so being first reserve i got the call up to come compete. The weather here is really sunny and warm, it's chilly in the mornings though and then heats up during the day. The water is definitely cooler so I have had to go from bikinis to wetties.
